The Kensington Community Council will
hold its Spring Celebration this year on
Saturday, March 13th, from 6:30-9:30pm.
This is a wonderful opportunity to welcome Spring with neighbors and friends,
and to help support the many recreational
and educational programs that KCC provides for the community.

sponsoring this year’s event, to be held at
the Community Center.
Many of our talented community members have helped support this fundraiser
over the years by donating auction items
for the event. If you’d like to donate an
item for KCC’s Spring Celebration, please

A Bit of History
The Spring Celebration began 18 years ago as a "burn-the-mortgage" party. In 1989, KCC had just finished its fundraising endeavors to finish the remodeling and improvements to the "Youth Hut" (now known as the Kensington Community Center). Financing for the project came from a state grant and donations from individuals and organizations in Kensington.

Tickets for the party are $25 per person for adults. Child care (a movie and food) is free. (Please RSVP for childcare ASAP to Esther Hill at 525-0292.)

About KCC
KCC sponsors two major fundraising events each year: the Spring Celebration and the Fall Open House. KCC is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation, which sponsors educational programs for community enrichment.
KCC publishes the Outlook and sponsors classes for adults and children, the Kensington After School Enrichment Program and Summer Day Camp. The organization also improves and administers educational facilities in Kensington Park in conjunction with KCSD. In 2002, in addition to KCC's regular programs, KCC committed significant funding to the completion of the new Tot Lot in Kensington Park.
